Here is a short list of a few of the workshops we've put together:
Foundations of a Worship Team:
- Culture of Honor
o This is an important place to begin as it sets the foundation for all interaction and dynamics in the team. It addresses the relationships between members, the worship leader and team, and the worship team and church leadership. It looks at honor from both the leader’s and member’s perspectives.
- Communication
o This is a short but necessary part. Communication is the foundation of healthy relationships and having healthy relationships is essential to an effective team.
- Band Dynamics
o This includes everything from building your sound, musicians (including the singers) roles, co-leading, and effective rehearsals. This section breaks down into understanding the different instruments’ roles and how that applies to musical arrangements.
- Arranging music
o This addresses how to bring creativity, songs we don’t enjoy, and stylistic guidelines together to produce music that ministers God’s presence.
- Prophetic Song and Spontaneous Worship
o This is about understanding the difference and using both effectively. It also addresses how the musicians can help or hinder what the Holy Spirit is doing.
Kingdom Musicians
- The Kingdom Perspective
o God’s heart is bigger than just the Sunday morning experience. As musicians and artists we have a mandate to bring the Kingdom to the world around us.
- Cultivating a life of Worship
o God is concerned about our whole life, not just when we are on stage. What does it mean to “abide in Christ” and how does this transform our life?
- Destroying the paradox of performance and worship
o There is an idea that either your are worshiping on stage or performing, or a performer or a worship musician; as if they are mutually exclusive. If we are to bring the Kingdom of God to the world we need to destroy the division between musicians and artists.
- Discovering your sound
o God has made everything with a unique sound and frequency. Discover what power is unlocked when we tap into the unique call each of us is created with.
Worship Leading
- Worship leading vs Worship facilitating
o This is a great foundation that addresses how our perspective shapes our interaction with our teams and the body of Christ.
- A Culture of Honor
o This is in the context of our role in creating this culture both in our interactions with our teams as well as with our church leadership. It addresses our call to raise up leaders and how to approach this. It also deals with the troubled past of pastor/worship leader relationship struggles.
- Facilitating the work of the Holy Spirit
o We need to be aware of what the Holy Spirit is doing and learn how to help set the stage and facilitate what He is doing in a given gathering.
